All of the projects I have posted over the last few weeks have been taken as part of my final portfolio for my photography major. After getting some feedback from one of my professors i've decided to revisit a few of these images. Below are new and improved versions of "Sparkling ICE", and "Passing Time".
[Photo's] "Sparkling ICE" - "White Wine Study"
The following images are experiments with some new techniques. I will most likely improve on the overall concept as time goes on, but for now these are my first attempts.
As always any feedback is greatly appreciated.
"Time - Part 1" - "Passing Time"
The following is another installment of my photo series, "Time - Part 1". I decided to take a break from the overall theme of the project and shoot this one in color as apposed to black and white. I will still include a black and white version of this shot, however I like the color version a lot more.
As always any feedback is always appreciated. Let me know what you think.

[Photo] "Carlsberg" - 2/20/16
The following image is another experiment with how light effects reflective objects. I've been trying to build a portfolio based around product shots, this being one of the many photos that will be included. I will post more from my portfolio in the coming weeks, so expect a lot of changes to the site.
As always any feedback is highly appreciated. Let me know what you think.
[Photo's] "Miller Genuine Draft" - "Redds's Apple Ale" - 2/9/16
The goal for todays photo shoot was to create a few product shots using some new techniques. The following images are what resulted.
Image #1 - "Miller Genuine Draft"
Image #2 - "Redd's Apple Ale"
"Time - Part 1" - "Uncertainty"
Another installment in my photo series "Time - Part 1". This particular image was done as a test using atmospheric haze for studio photography.
[Photo] "Ice 3" - 1/13/16
This image is the result of a quick study I was doing for another project. I was mainly trying to figure out how I wanted the bokeh to look. I might need to play around with it a little more when it comes time to shoot the next project, however I am quite happy with todays result.
"Fairy In A Jar" - [Photo Manipulation] - 1/6/16
I decided to try something new for this one. My goal was to combine multiple photos with a drawing in order to create what you see above. The process for obtaining the results ended up being a lot more complicated than I initially thought. After a few hours of combining images in Photoshop, I ended up with this as the final image.
I may or may not revisit this idea in the future, but for now I am happy with the results.
"The King's Golden Apples" - 12/21/15
The following is the first image from my latest project. This photo series titled "The Firebird" will be a photographic representation of an old Slavic fairy tale of the same name.
The story tells of a Tsar in possession of a tree bearing golden fruit. One day the Tsar discovered that someone was stealing his golden apples, and thus sends his three sons to investigate. This first image represents the magical apples that grow in the Tsar's orchard.
The full story can be read here.
All images from this series can be found on this page, which will be updated as the project continues.
[Photo] "Heineken" - 11/27/15
I decided to try my hand at some product photography. I mainly used this shot to get familiar with a new light kit I purchased. So far im happy with the result. I definitely need to work on my technique though. I also tried a few new post production techniques, although I have not quite perfected them yet.
The following image is the result of my experiments.
"The Silence Of Autumn. - [Photo] - 11/6/15
Here is a quick shot I took while I was walking around today. There's nothing really to say about this one other than I think it looks cool. Enjoy. - Nick
"Time - Part 1" - "Gone and Still Forgotten" 10/8/15
Here is another addition to my photo series "Time - Part 1". I was trying to recreate an image I saw in a book I was reading, with my own personal touch of course. In order to pull this off I ended up building my own floor, and after a few days of work I ended up with the following image. It's meant to look like the floor of an abandon building, with a pocket watch sitting on it. Any other meaning is totally up to the viewer.
If interested you can purchase this along with the other images in "Time - Part 1" at the following link.
Let me know what you think. I hope you all enjoy. I only have one more photo planned for this series so definitely look foreword to that. In the meantime enjoy.
[Photo] "Pinball" - 9/18/15
The following image is just a quick idea that came into my head. My family recently received my grandfathers old pinball machine, and ever since i've been thinking about something I could do with it.
I tried to make it look like a photo taken by an urban explorer who happened to stumble across an old abandoned pinball machine (hence the overlaid textures). I took inspiration from my ongoing Texture Project, as well as a few books i've been reading. Hopefully ill do something with this idea in the near future.
In the meantime please enjoy. I've included the final image as well as a version without the textures.
[Photo] "Leninade" - Experimenting With Color.
Toady I am continuing my theme of taking pictures of soda bottles. Honestly it's one of my favorite things to do. My goal for today was to do a few experiments with color, and the following is what happened. I decided to look around online for a unique soda bottle featuring the color red. After a few hours searching I stumbled across a drink called "Leninade" which has a very obvious Soviet Union theme to it. And since im so fascinated with the color red this was exactly what I needed.
For this shot I intended to place a bottle of Leninade on top of a red and black background. I ended up getting a 20x20 print of one of my own images, for this instance I used "Texture 1". I than lit it using two soft boxes and an off camera flash. I used a red gel on one of the soft boxes to lessen the glare, the other was left white. I also used a yellow gel on the flash in order to bring out the text a little. I than took a series of 4 to 5 shots and brought them into Photoshop where I preformed an HDR conversion. After about an hour of processing I came out with the image you see below. Overall I am quite happy with this one. It is exactly what I was looking for in terms of the color, and is probably the best HDR conversion I've done to this day.
If you're interested, im offering this photo as a print. You can get yours at this link. If anyone decided to pick one up send me a picture, id love to see.
Want To Buy Prints? The NickWilt.com Store is Open For Business.
I have decided to sell prints of some of my best images. If you are interested in purchasing a photo print click on the "Shop" link in the navigation bar.
The shop is still in it's early stages. I've decided to use Redbubble.com to host the store. I've heard good things about them and thought I would give it a try. Depending on how things go, I might change things around in the next few weeks, but for now were going to go with this option and hope for the best.
If you buy a print leave a comment on the website or tweet a picture to @nickwiltphoto. I would love to hear some feedback from anyone who buy one.
If there is a photo you would like but is not in the store feel free to shoot me an email and I will add it at request. You can email me HERE or at Click@nickwilt.com.
Thank's a lot to everyone who enjoys the site. More photos are on the way.

Texture Project - "Texture 6"
Here is yet another entry in my ongoing side project. To those who are not aware, in my spare time I like to combine different textures together to create another completely different image. So far I have made five others that you can find elsewhere on the site.
The following marks the halfway point in the project, originally intending to create 10 different textures. I decided to use the same color scheme as the first image purely due to the fact that I really like the way it looked with the raw images. The image is based off a handful of photos of baking trays acquired during my eight months working in a bakery. I knew id find a use for these images at some point.
[Photo] "Leaf"
Here is just a quick experiment. I was looking at an old dead leaf and thought the patterns looked pretty neat. A few minutes later this happened. Enjoy.
[Photo] "Time - Part I" - "Check"
The following image is another image in my photo series 'Time - Part I". Again going with the theme of pocket watches, here we see a watch on a chess board. For more information on this series see the main page for the project.
[Photo] Infrared - "Farmland"
Here is another IR landscape taken by the field in my backyard.
This shot is taken in preparation for my upcoming IR photography tutorial video, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime enjoy the following image.
[Photo] "Time Stands Still"
I made this while thinking of ideas for my photo series. Although it does not quite fit with the rest of the images I still think that it's worth showing.
